Grief Support Confidentiality Agreement

Guidelines for privacy and trust within our faith-based grief support groups.

Purpose

Our faith-based grief support groups are built on trust, compassion, and respect. This confidentiality agreement helps create a safe space where participants can share openly without fear that personal information will be disclosed outside the group.

What Is Confidential

Participants agree that the following will remain confidential within the group:

  • Personal stories, experiences, and feelings shared during sessions
  • Names and identifying details of other participants
  • Specific circumstances discussed in group settings

Exceptions

Confidentiality may be limited when:

  • There is imminent risk of harm to oneself or others
  • Disclosure is required by law
  • Written consent is provided by the participant

Facilitator Responsibilities

Group facilitators are committed to upholding these standards and will review confidentiality expectations at the start of each session. Facilitators will not share participant information outside the group except as noted in the exceptions above.
